How to Protect nAble with AuthAnvil
Note: This integration does not support the use of Push. You will need to use OTP.

Step 1 – Configure a Two-Factor Authentication Profile

Log into N-central as an Admin.

Expand the Administration tab.

Open Two-Factor Authentication.
Click Add to create a new two-factor authentication profile and you will be prompted with 4 options:

Name: A unique identifier for this profile, such as “AuthAnvil.”

Description: (Optional) A description of the profile.

URL: The SAS URL of your AuthAnvil two-factor authentication server (i.e. https://your.authanvil.com/AuthAnvil/SAS.asmx).

AuthAnvil Site Id: The site ID that these users will authenticate against (default ID = 1).

Make sure to click Test Connection to verify that the URL is valid and able to be resolved.

Click Save.
Note: Your SAS URL will be your tenant URL/AuthAnvil/SAS.asmx. For example: https://acme.my.authanvil.com/AuthAnvil/SAS.asmx
Step 2 – Assign members to use AuthAnvil two-factor authentication

Log into N-central as an Admin.

Expand the Administration tab.

Open User Accounts.

Click on a member that will be using AuthAnvil two-factor authentication for their N-central login.

Click on the Details tab.

Check the box Use Two-Factor Authentication to enable two-factor authentication for this user.

Select whether you want to utlize this user’s email address or click Use Custom Username to define their exact two-factor authentication username.

Click Save.

Repeat steps 4 – 8 for every member who you would like to require to use AuthAnvil authentication.
Step 3 – Log into N-central using your Two Factor Auth credentials

Log into N-central as you typically would, using your username and password. After primary authentication,you will be presented with the following screen:

Enter the current OTP on the user's AuthAnvil Authenticator.

Click Sign-In.
Note: Users will need to enter a four digit pin here as well as the One Time Password.
For the Pin your users will use Pin: 1111
The actual Pin requirement is a holdover from the old on-prem configuration. AuthAnvil does not use the Pin; however, it respects the value being submitted.
